With Sony and Samsung sharing limelight, HTC sees improving mid-range offerings using Desire 816 and Desire 610 as a silver lining to their drowning business. The HTC Desire 816 will be the larger of the two and the HTC Desire 610 will be a more compact version of its larger sibling.
The HTC Desire 816′s design is inspired by that of the HTC One, it is not surprising that HTC stuck with the successful design. The display is handsomely sized at 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The device is powered by a 1.6 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor. It also has 8 GB of internal storage and 1.5 GB of RAM. External memory can be expanded to an upper bound of 64 GB via micro SD. The HTC Desire 816 is well endowed in the camera sector with a 13 MP camera capable of capturing 1080p videos and a front facing 5 MP camera capable of capturing 720p. It will also come with HTC Sense 5.5.

The HTC Desire 610 is more of a lower mid-range smartphone solution. It has a 4.7 inch screen with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. A respectable quad-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 processor bolsters the device. Also, it has an 8 MP Primary camera, and a 1.3 MP secondary camera, both capable of recording videos at 720p. To add to all that, it comes with 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, and external storage expandable to 64 GB.

Both devices come with LTE support which is an asset in the mid-range market. The HTC Desire 816 and 610 will be available in colour variants of Black, White, Red, Grey, and Green, and they will be available from April and May respectively.
