HTC One Plus will have a 5 inch QHD Screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 SoC & 2GB of RAM.

Recent rumors suggested Sony’s plan to release the successor to the Sony Xperia Z1 in the near future. A device codenamed as the HTC M8 has been leaked and it seems pretty obvious by their nomenclature that this device is none other than HTC One’s successor. HTC One was codenamed as HTC M7. As per rumours, HTC M8 might finally be released as the HTC One Plus.

A bunch of images have been leaked and indicate that the HTC M8 will sail on the same boat as the HTC One, when it comes to design and form factor. This means that we will still get to see the classic Unibody Aluminium design. But this time, HTC decided to go with a bigger screen in the form of 5 inch QHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display. This will put it on par with the hopefully upcoming Sony Xperia Z2. The device will most probably be equipped with a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 SoC with 4 Krait 450 CPU cores and Adreno 420 GPU. However, the actual clock speeds at which this processor will run in HTC One Plus is yet unclear.

The biggest advantage of HTC One Plus might be its “Twin-Sensor” UltraPixel camera

The biggest boon that this device has to offer will be its twin sensor UltraPixel camera. UltraPixel technology was previously used in the HTC One, it gave good but not mind blowing results in the normal lighting conditions but gave extraordinary results when it came to low-lit conditions. The main focus of this technology is to build a more advanced CMOS sensor and a high quality optical lens system. Overall, HTC boasts that this sensor allows 300 percent more light to pass through.

The technology was a venture by HTC to show the world that more ‘Megapixels’ don’t mean everything. It claims better sensor performance than a conventional 13 or 8 MP camera on many other handsets. Going in the same direction, HTC will introduce a twin sensor system this time and we hope the camera is as amazing as it sounds. The HTC One Plus (M8) might be announced at the MWC 2014 but will be available in stores not earlier than March, 2014.
