LG G Pro 2

To start with the design, there is almost bezel-free display with industry leading screen-to-frame rate of 77.2%. The G Pro 2 looks very identical to the LG G2 with the power and volume keys placed at the back. Under the hood, there is a Snapdragon 800 SoC which we guess is an over-clocked version. One of the main points of attraction is its camera which uses the OIS+ unit which is the improved version of the camera unit found in the G2. The camera features 120 FPS slow-motion video recording at Full HD resolution. It is the first device among the flagships to record at such an high frame rate and resolution. Even the Galaxy Note 3 records at 60 FPS and the Apple iPhone 5s records at just 30 FPS. The phone is also capable of 4K video recording at 30 FPS. Magic Focus is also an interesting feature which is similar to Nokia Refocus where you can focus on any particular area of the photo after capturing it. After the Apple iPhone 5S, even LG has included the dual-LED ‘Natural Flash’ which gives correct colour temperature when the flash is exposed.

Unfortunately, there is no fingerprint scanner but LG has included content lock through which you can lock your personal photos, videos and other files with unique password. As you may find it hard to use these phablets single handed, LG has included an option through which you can use it single handed by shrinking the display size ranging from 3.7 inch to 4.7 inch. To take the advantage of the big screen, G Pro 2 can run two web browsers side-by-side for convenient web browsing. There is even a 1W Hi-Fi loudspeaker that’s almost 30% louder than the LG G Pro.

The LG G Pro 2 will be launched by end of this month in South Korea and will be released in other countries depending upon the demand of the phablet. There is no word on pricing yet but it will be priced almost similar to the Optimus G Pro. We hope that LG makes the availability of the phablet as soon as possible in other countries as its predecessor, G Pro was a failure mainly because of its very late availability in the markets around the world.
