LG announced its new Optimus L9 smartphone a day after it announced Optimus G. The Optimus L series of smartphones have been the budget oriented smartphones with a great emphasis on style and premium design to lure in the customers. The Optimus L9 smartphone comes in at 9.1mm thickness with a stylish metallic streak, a dual-core 1GHz CPU, 4.7 inch IPS display, 5MP camera and a high density 2,150mAh SiO+ battery. It runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Apart from its stylish offering, the L9 comes with a myriad of applications to help with translation, better keypad input and note-taking through handwriting recognition. The translator dubbed QTranslator promises to translate from 44 foreign languages to 64 other foreign languages using Optical Character Recognition (OCR). The new keypad allows users to customise the key placements in the keyboard for better one-handed input, though its yet to seen how this translate to in real world usage.
