As Sony and Samsung have recently launched their new devices, Sony Smartwatch 2 and Galaxy Gear smartwatch respectively, Qualcomm was also involved in announcing its own smartwatch that has been named Toq (pronounced “talk”) Smartwatch. Let us glance at some key features of Qualcomm Toq Smartwatch:

Display: It comes with a unique Mirasol display, an interferometric modulator display that has been developed by Qualcomm. This display works efficiently without requiring any backlight. Like an e-paper display, Mirasol display can stay on for long period without any need for power. This display is easy to read even under sunlight. It displays full color and makes use of ambient light for the purpose of backlight thereby bringing down power consumption. The Qualcomm Toq Smartwatch ensures a battery life of about 3 days.

Pairing: A user can pair his/her Qualcomm Toq Smartwatch with their existing Android enabled Smartphone. It will bring all their notifications to a single screen. This device can be paired only with Smartphones that work on Android 4.0.3 version and later.

Convenience: With your Qualcomm Toq Smartwatch, you can make and receive calls, go through your messages, control music and do a lot of other things. This amazing gadget relies totally on its display for interaction. It comes with an optional wireless Bluetooth headset that functions with the Toq. It carries two wireless speaker modules which a user can plug into their ears while making calls. This ensures completely privacy. The wireless headset as well as the Toq can be charged wirelessly by placing them in their case.

Price: The Qualcomm Toq Smartwatch will be available in the market from next month at a price of $300.

Our Take: Qualcomm Toq Smartwatch a pretty decent device with amazing features and excellent technology. However, it appears to be over priced. It has received mixed reviews from the experts.
