UMI X2, quad core phablet with Full HD display launched for Rs.14000

By Jagannath on Wednesday 27th of Feb 2013

Entering the  ‘quad-core’ smartphones segment in India, Chinese mobile manufacturer UMI has launched a phablet named UMI X2 with a 5-inch Full HD display. It will be available in the Indian market for Rs.14000. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and can be upgraded to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The device runs on MTK MT6589 chipset and the quad-core processor is clocked at 1.2 GHz.

UMI X2 comes with 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of inbuilt memory and also comes with a microSD slot. This phablet has a 2500mAh battery to power it. It is 8.9mm thick. It supports connectivity features including 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS.

Top features of UMI X2:

  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
  • MTK MT6589 quad-core 1.2 GHz processor
  • 5-inch display, 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, 441 PPI
  • 13 MP back camera, 3 MP front camera
  • 32 GB in-built memory, 2 GB RAM

UMI X2 is available on UMI’s official website.

UMI X2 Vs. Micromax A116 HD?

UMI X2 can be tough competition to Micromax’s A116 HD, which was launched just a few days back. This contender from Micromax boasts a quad-core 1.2 GHz processor and 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display. UMI X2 completely outscores the Micromax A116 HD in terms of specs, especially the screen! But we still have to wait and see if the X2′s performance is upto the mark. Also, UMI being a new entrant into the India market, customers would want to know how the after sales service is.
