Samsung Galaxy S5 Shows Up in AnTuTu Benchmarks, Could Be The Real Deal

By Abid Iqbal on Saturday 8th of Feb 2014

Samsung Galaxy S5, the upcoming flagship from Samsung has finally landed into the AnTuTu benchmark database. The system information according to the alleged screenshots tells us that it has a 1920 x 1080 display and Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.5 GHz. This version of Snapdragon 800 might probably be MSM8974AB as it appears to be higher clocked (from 2.3GHz on the original Snapdragon 800 to 2.5 GHz) on this version.

The device scored above 35,000 in AnTuTu which is a bit higher than Galaxy Note 3.

The device has a 16MP camera which we guess is the ISOCELL camera sensor developed by Samsung itself. This sensor reduces the pixel crosstalk by 30 percent and increases dynamic range by 30 percent. The front camera remains the same with a 2.1MP resolution and is capable of recording full HD 1080p videos. The phone also has a bunch of extra sensors which is always the case with Samsung flagship smartphones. The phone runs on latest Android version 4.4 KitKat, which we guess will come with the new flattened user-interface as it was leaked in screenshots earlier. Most interestingly the phone has 2GB of RAM which is less than that found on current flagship; Galaxy Note 3. It may be the case because the phone is a prototype and might still be under testing. The final version may probably come with 3GB of RAM.

The device scored above 35,000 in AnTuTu which is a bit higher than Galaxy Note 3. This would make the upcoming Galaxy S5 the most powerful Android device when it launches. Samsung has announced the Unpacked event on 24th of February, 2014 where this device will be announced. We expect that the phone will feature 4K recording and new generation Exynos processor with 64-bit technology, improved display with IGZO technology and as well as an improved camera with ISOCELL sensor. There is still no information about the looks and build quality of the phone but a steel frame was rumoured.
