The launch of Android Version 4.4 KitKat with Google Nexus 5 has brought an enormous change in performance and looks of the operating system. LG has confirmed this through their Saudi Arabia’s Twitter account. According to the company, the phone will be getting the update by the end of this month. There is no word on update of the phones outside Saudi Arabia but according to sources, the update will reach other phones soon after they roll out the update in Saudi Arabia. As of now, no other smartphones from LG have been announced to receive the Android v.4.4 KitKat update.
Samsung has two flagship smartphones in 2014; Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 which were launched last year. The Android v4.4 KitKat update for both of these devices has already been leaked. SamMobile has been able to get their hands on a pre-release firmware version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 running Android 4.4.2. As it isn’t the final update software, is a bit unstable but if you don’t want to wait for the final release, you can update the your smartphone by downloading the files from here (for Snapdragon version only). The official KitKat update is already rolled-out in Poland and few other European countries, other countries will be getting the update in few days. Samsung has changed the notification colours icons to white.
Motorola has promised to update to their smartphones soon after the new Android version rolls out. After receiving the KitKat update for the flagship Moto X, now its time for the Moto G. It is already receiving the Kitkat update in UK while other countries will be receiving the update in couple of days. After some bugs were found in the KitKat update for the Droid Mini, Droid Maxx and Droid Ultra, the update was pulled but now Motorola has resumed the update. The latest flagship smartphone from Sony, the Xperia Z1 is rumoured to get the 4.4 update by early February. The disclosure was made by Android SaS. The update is said to make many changes to UI and system. It is also said that the update will improve the STAMINA mode and bring performance improvements to the smartphone. This update will also hit devices like Sony Xperia Z Ultra, Sony Xperia Z, Sony Xperia ZL and Sony Xperia ZR in the coming months.
Last but not the least, the Indian smartphone manufacturer Micromax is going to update their 10 devices to Android 4.4 Kitkat. A leaked internal document unveiled this information. According to the document, the Micromax A250, A240, A210, A200, A116, A116i, A111, A110Q and A110 are going to receive the update but there is no time frame mentioned.
