LG, the Korean conglomerate is having a mission to fill our life with goodness with their consumer electronic products and they are always behind innovations for that aforementioned reason. Coming towards their smartphones, the spotlight will focus on the display panels which are considered as the mirror for the future and through that we have seen a lot of wonders. The Stereoscopic LCD display which created 3D wonders and the peerless True HD were the LG ace strikers in the smartphone race. But one question still remains. Can LG smartphones steal the show by overshadowing native rival Samsung and the mighty Apple? We are not clocking into an early verdict because it will be injudicious. Instead of that let’s start the pursuit for the answer.
The one thing that gives LG a little bit of exhilaration is their climbing sales graph for the last quarter of 2012. Thanks to Google Nexus and the homie Optimus G models for lifting the company’s overall smartphone shipments. However, they couldn’t offset the loss that hit them in the former quarters. So in paper LG still remains as a third player and they are hanging around in the gallery, watching the onslaught of the battle between Apple and Samsung.
LG failed in some crucial areas and that’s the reason for gasping midway exit in the global smartphone race.
We haven’t seen any ground breaking designs from LG for the past few years. All the designs were a slightly modified one from the Optimus ancestors and LG is still sticking around the “Optimus Slab form factor”.
The craze for large phones, aka phablets, is rocking the industry like a hurricane now and LG has no answer for the upcoming Samsung flagship devices like Note 3 and Samsung Mega phones. The 5.5 inch Optimus G Pro is the only blade of LG in the phablet competition. So it’s time to cobble one brand new series which features precision, delicacy, sophistication and some new innovative features to challenge the rivals.
Recently we heard the smart watch speculations about LG, Samsung and Apple. But they still remain rumors. More products in the market won’t limit the rights of customers to make choices for themselves and there will be an innovation, encouragement plus healthy competition.
The LG Tablet powerhouse is out of gas and it seems like they have no plans to get involved in the tablet market for challenging iPad and Galaxy tab. For the last man standing match, LG has to introduce the successors of LG Optimus Pad or a brand new candidate to this section.
In developing countries, LG is regarded as a company that makes refrigerators and Televisions. Time to litter ads from billboards to bus wraps to tout the LG logo and the lucid tagline. This movement will reboot the brand awareness for sure. The LG Android mobile price in India has kept it among the top selling brands, yet a proper marketing strategy would benefit the brand greatly.
Now we have an answer for the former question. If LG continues with this laid-back attitude in the future, dethronement from the third place can surely happen. On the other hand, they have enough time and technology in hand to come up with a well-crafted device which can make an earth shattering effect in the market.
