Zotac announced an overclocked edition of the GeForce GTX 780 this week that boasts a 16% increase in performance over the stock variant of the GTX 780.
The GeForce GTX 780 AMP! Edition puts out staggering numbers. Zotac has introduced a new cooling solution that allows the card to achieve higher clocks, as evidenced by its 1,006 MHz base clock and 1,059 MHz boost clock. The stock GTX 780 comes with a clock frequency of 863/900 MHz base/boost. Zotac’s GTX 780 AMP! Edition also manages a better memory clock frequency at 1,553 MHz. The card has 2304 CUDA cores on a 384-bit memory interface along with 3GB of GDDR5 video memory clocked at 6.0 Gbps.
The card comes with a three fan cooler, wherein the central fan has a diameter of 8.5 cm while the outer two are of the 7.5 cm variety. The card comes with an aluminium heatsink and has five 6mm heatpipes. The orange coloured fans on the card do a great job of reducing the heat level up to 10 degrees Celsius, and are also designed to run fairly quiet at 15dBA, even under heavy gaming conditions.
The GTX 780 AMP! Edition connects through one PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slot, and comes with two Dual-Link DVI, one HDMI 1.4 and one DisplayPort port. The card comes with one six-pin and one eight-pin power connector, and includes two SLI connectors allowing for a total of four such cards to be connected via Nvidia’s SLI technology. It can run four screens simultaneously at a maximum resolution of 5760X1080. It can also output 7.1 audio over HDMI along with supporting PhysX, adaptive V-Sync, 4K displays and Nvidia’s 3D Vision.
The Zotac GeForce GTX 780 AMP! Edition bundle includes a suite of Splinter Cell games (Splinter Cell Double Agent, Splinter Cell Conviction, and Splinter Cell Blacklist). The card will sell for around INR 55,000 and will be available starting this month.
