Acer introduces the Aspire 5600U and 7600U all-in-ones!
5600U and 7600U from Acer released. Here is everything about it. Specifications, price and status in India and lowest prices.
Windows 8 is just around the corner and every PC maker is bringing out the best they have to establish themselves and be the first! Its now Acer’s time to make a change in the market, with its Aspire 5600U and 7600U All-in-ones.
Aspire 5600U and 7600U are sensitive to touch, which is going to be the de facto once Windows 8 is released. Considering the Windows 8 UI and touch optimizations, we are happy to see PC manufacturers use it to their maximum extent.
Coming to the specifications, the 5600U and 7600U have 23″ and 27″ displays respectively, with 1080p resolution and a thin bezel. The display can be bent upto an 80 degree angle. They come with 8GB of RAM and 1TB Hard drive, and are configurable to even higher capacities. 7600U consists an NVIDIA GeForce GT640M graphic card while the 5600U relies on its Integrated Graphics. We feel that both can be used as great HTPC or Multimedia PC, with the kind of graphic power they have. Light gaming is also possible, but to expect anything better would be disappointing. Both are powered by Core i5 Processors, the 5600U has a 2.4GHz 3110M, while the 7600U has a 3210M, clocked at 2.5GHz (which is overclockable to 3.1Ghz). Being mobile counterparts, do expect a performance similar to laptops.
Both of them have HDMI inputs, 2 for 7600U and 1 for 5600U. They also have both 802.11a/b/g/n and Bluetooth wireless connectivity as well as two USB 3.0 ports. Besides, the Acer Aspire 7600U has four USB 2.0 ports and the Acer Aspire 5600U has three USB 2.0 ports.
Considering how USB 3.0 is being adopted, we wonder why Acer still hangs on to the USB 2.0 Ports. Maybe cost cutting or power issues, but we are sure they draw way less power than any other PCs.
Coming to pricing, well they aren’t released in India yet. But the pricing is out in US. They will be available this month, with the 5600U starting at $1,000 for touch-enabled models (which do not feature a touchscreen), and $1,150 for touchscreen variants. The 7600U can be yours for a higher price of $1,900. Considering the pricing, it is safe to say they will cost about 50-60,000 in India, when released.
This is a good move from Acer and we are left wondering what the other manufacturers have in answer to this.
