Samsung has revealed that it will launch its much awaited Galaxy Gear in Berlin on September 4. It is one of the big things amongst the wearable devices. It is a watch which enhances and enriches the experience of a smartphone. This could eventually become a new trend and a style statement amongst gadget freaks irrespective of their ages.
It is said to have a 2.5 inch square screen with a 320 x 320 resolution display. Powered by a dual core processor of 1.5 GHz, it runs on Google’s Android operating system.
Gear is expected to be enabled with the features which allow people to make calls, surf the internet and manage e-mails along with its actual purpose of giving the time and date information. One can also use it to tweet and text.
Reportedly, Galaxy Gear is equipped with a speaker and a microphone. It is also said to have a camera on the strap. It will also consist of apps based upon fitness. One can connect via Bluetooth 4.0 to communicate with a phone. It is expected to be shipped around the September 23 and will be available in more than one color.
Galaxy Note III, which will also be released on the 4th of September lets the user record videos in Ultra-HD which is a significant improvement from the 1080p video capture available in last year’s Note II. It is said to have a screen size of 5.7 inches.
Galaxy gear poses as a tough competitor to Sony which has already launched its smartwatches. It is getting launched before Apple launches another one of its products. This could cause a significant loss to Apple because the people might prefer Samsung’s gear than Apple’s product. Samsung has a few other wearable gadgets set to be launched in its pipeline.
