Huawei launches the Ascend G600 and G330 officially in India

Huawei has officially launched their new budget smartphones in India. Introducing the Huawei Ascend G600 and Huawei Ascend G330 smartphones. Both these smartphones pack Qualcomm Snapdragon dual core chipsets along with the older Android 4.0 ICS. Read on to know more.

Huawei Ascend G600

The Huawei Ascend G600 is the bigger of the two smartphones being officially launched. The G600 packs a 4.5 inch qHD display, putting it just away from phablet territory. Personally, 4.5 inch is where it’s big enough, but not too big (no pun intended there!).

Huawei Ascend G600 Specifications
  • 1.2 GHz dual core CPU
  • 768 MB of RAM
  • 4.5″ qHD (960*540 pixels) IPS display
  • 8 MP BSI camera, auto focus and dual LED flash
  • 0.3 MP VGA front camera
  • 4 GB internal storage, expandable upto 32 GB via Micro SD
  • Dual DTS SRS Speakers
  • 1,930 mAh battery
  • Android 4.0 ICS

For the price, with the brand name and good camera, as well as a good display the phone is a good buy. However, it faces competition from the upcoming Micromax A116 Canvas HD.

Huawei Ascend G330

The smaller of the two, the Ascend G330 is a respectable 4 inch smartphone. Packing the same Android 4.0 ICS operating system, the RAM amount gets reduced to 512 MB only. Many other features get cut, but then again the price receives a cut too.

Huawei Ascend G330 Specifications
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8225 chipset
  • 1.0 GHz dual core ARM Cortex A5 CPU
  • 512 MB of RAM
  • 4.0″ WVGA (800*480 pixels) IPS display
  • 5 MP camera, auto focus and LED flash
  • 0.3 MP VGA front camera
  • 4 GB internal storage (2.4 GB user accessible)
  • expandable upto 32 GB via Micro SD
  • 1,500 mAh battery
  • Android 4.0 ICS

The battery gets chopped, so is the camera and the display resolution. DTS SRS is gone as well. However, the Ascend G330 can be bought for a much cheaper and more affordable Rs. 10990.

This smartphone represents much more value. However, we feel that 1 GB of RAM and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean would have gone a long way to make this smartphone more popular.
