Karbonn S1 Titanium vs Micromax A116 Canvas HD – Clash of two Indian, Quad-core processor smartphones


Few days back Micromax launched an Android Jelly Bean based phablet with Quad-core processor for Rs.14999. Now it’s Indian rival Karbonn mobiles has come out with a smartphone S1 Titanium with specs almost similar to A116 and has priced it at Rs.13,000.

Let’s compare these two Indian giants and see which phone will outscore the other one.

OS: Both these smartphones share the same score, as both of these devices run on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean).

CPU and RAM: Both these smartphones are powered by Quad-core 1.2 GHz and have a 1 GB RAM.

Display: A116 defeats the S1 Titanium in terms of display, as the A116 boasts a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen with 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) resolution while the S1 Titanium features a 4.5-inch display at 960 x 540 pixels resolution.

Camera: Again the A116 outscores the S1 Titanium when it comes to the camera feature. A116 has an 8 MP rear camera and S1 Titanium packs a 5 MP rear camera. Coming to video-calling, camera A116 uses a VGA camera and S1 Titanium features a Digital camera.

Memory: There is no word about the in-built memory of S1 Titanium, but A116 offers 4 GB in-built memory and both these smartphones support microSD slot for external memory.

Battery: A116 packs a powerful battery of 2,100 mAh when compared to S1 Titanium which houses a 1,600 mAh battery.

Other common features of these smartphones include Dual SIM slots, 3G, WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth.

Coming to the final verdict, for a user who loves to grab a phablet with strong features for a decent price, Micromax A116 is a good option and the user who doesn’t really bother with the display and is looking for a smartphone with strong specs and price tag below Rs.15000 Karbonn S1 Titanium is a good option.
