Lenovo to release IdeaCentre Horizon Table PC
Lenovo wants to invade your living room, and they’ve made it clear exactly how they plan to do so at this year’s CES in Las Vegas. The plan involves a massive coffee table sized gaming surface – a machine known as the Lenovo IdeaCentre Horizon Table PC. It’s a beast of a device with a 27-inch touchscreen and the ability to work in multiple positions: upright, slanted, or on its side. And with a set of accessories such as e-dice and joysticks, it takes on the role of a full-on board game-capable monster.
The idea behind this machine is a cross-over between physical and digital interaction: “phygital” as Lenovo dubs it. The IdeaCentre Horizon works on Windows 8 and promises games made exclusively for it, including titles from the likes of Electronic Arts and Ubisoft. Apart from using the touchscreen to play games, you’ve also got a collection of special accessories such as e-dice, four joysticks and strikers to make this gaming table an immersive experience.
Lenovo App Shop powered by Intel AppUp for multi-user excellence provides access to thousands of downloadable games. Exclusive access to a package of pre-loaded games like Monopoly – and joystick-friendly games such as FishingJoy and Raiding Company are also included. BlueStacks integration enabling Android apps interaction is in the works too.

Its unique “smart hinge system” turns it into a Lenovo “Aura”-toting machine, Aura being Lenovo’s own unique UI for Windows 8. The device can thus serve multiple purposes right from education to enterprise applications.
The Horizon is powered by NVIDIA GeForce graphics, a 3rd Gen Intel Core i7 processor as well as Dolby Home Theatre v4 audio. Multi-machine mode allows the machine to change the height and angle of the Table PC, from flat to 90 degrees. The IdeaCentre Horizon Table PC will retail this summer starting at a price of $1,699 USD.
