LG Nexus or iPhone 5?
A new Nexus phone is about to be uncovered. After Samsung had its share of Nexuses, it looks like LG was given the offer this time around. The LG Nexus E960(Mako) has been received by a website onliner.by. It appears to be a pre-release unit, and the official launch is rumored to be on October 30. Look at it below:
This is the new Nexus according to them. It looks great, and if reports are true, the performance will blow you out. Not only that, even the top of the line Droids will be washed out.
The site reports that it is a 1.5Ghz Quad Core Snapdragon (mostly S4 Pro) Processor, with 2GB RAM, a 4.7″ 1280×768 res display, 8GB in-built storage, running on Android 4.1.2 Jellybean. Having only 8GB of in-built storage might be an issue to a few, but there is still no news on an expansion slot. So sit tight for now. The phone also sports an 8MP rear snapper for taking pics, and 1080p video recording. More on it later.
As the phone is good, the site went as far as to post a picture of it side by side with iPhone 5. Now, you might be wondering it would not be a worthy competitor, but we are yet to see the phones in the flesh before drawing out any conclusion. Comparatively, we feel that Android is still catching up to iOS in terms of UI speed, and with 4.1 it came real close. Now, we are sure that this new Nexus will destroy the iPhone 5, if matched right, but considering the Android fragmentation and the multi-threading(which is not really optimized enough), we feel it may still have a chance.
LG was rumored to launch a device on October 29th, so this might be it. Considering how it has been doing till date, we feel it will give LG the push it needs. LG Nexus Mako ( also rumored as Nexus 4 , being 4th gen), will be a huge hit with the developers and users alike, just as every generation of a Nexus phone has been. We sure hope this is the right device and there better be an expansion slot, or a higher capacity version. Else, it is no good. Find out more on October 30. More pics here:
