Nokia Lumia 920 coming to India on 15th January?
Readers at WMPoweruser have noted that the launch of Nokia Lumia 920 in India is just around the corner. Vodafone stores are currently taking pre-orders for the handset, with a delivery promised for the 17th January. Some e-retail websites like Saholic are also accepting pre-orders with delivery promised on the 15th January.
The down payment of the pre-orders is Rs. 2000 ($37) with the final price, according to Nokia representatives, rounding out to Rs 30,000 ($550). If that turns out to be true, then that is an amazing price for a phone which packs PureMotion HD+ ClearBlack display screen, PureView v2 camera and Microsoft’s latest Windows Phone 8. The price would come around to be the same or slightly cheaper than Samsung’s Android flagship – Galaxy S3 – in India. With the Lumia 920 being Nokia’s ‘light at the end of the tunnel’ in the smartphone race it is expected to be priced competitively to grab a fair marketshare.
The Lumia 920 will be available through other authorized retailers across the country this month, but Saholic seems to be among the first to take pre-orders for Nokia’s WP8 flagship handset. The wait has been a long one for the subcontinent users, perhaps Nokia would make it worth with a stellar pricing.
