Gionee Elife 6 sports a 5-inch 1080p display (441 ppi) made with One Glass Solution (OGS+) technology; it is powered by a 1.5 GHz Mediatek MT6589T quad-core processor, 2 GB RAM and 32 GB of internal memory. The phone runs on a custom Amigo Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) ROM.
The phone looks sleek and has taken some design cues from Sony’s Xperia range. The Gionee Elife E6 is just 7.9 mm thick and has a very small 2.54 mm bezel around the screen. It doesn’t disappoint in the camera department either and packs a 13 MP rear camera with f/2.2 wide angle lens, BSI sensor and LED flash; the front-facing camera is a 5 MP shooter with a f/2.4 wide angle lens. The camera also supports panorama and HDR modes. The device is very light at just 128 grams and includes a dedicated Yamaha audio processing chip with support for DTS surround sound technology; the dedicated audio chip claims to enhance the audio experience.
Among other things, the Elife E6 also comes with the new CABC screen brightness regulation technology; it sets the screen brightness levels automatically to save power and uses synchronisation heartbeat technology to reduce the lag in application usage. It also detects the user motions automatically to answer calls by just placing it over the ears without having to press anything. The phone is juiced by a a 2020 mAh battery that is optimised to reduce the charging and discharging errors with an intelligent power meter.
