Lava Iris 502 appeared on online retailer Saholic for Rs.8499. Unlike previous 5-inch phablet Iris 501 which is powered by a dual-core processor, this phablet comes with a single-core 1 GHz processor. The OS has been upgraded to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean from Android ICS.

Lava Iris 502 includes an 5-inch WVGA display, 5 MP camera with LED  flash on the back, VGA front camera and a 2000 mAh battery powers this phablet with 9 h of talktime and 400 h of standby time.

Connectivity features include 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and Micro USB.

Lava Iris 502 Quick specs:

  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 1 GHz processor
  • 5-inch capacitive touchscreen, 800 x 480 pixels resolution
  • 5 MP rear camera with LED flash, VGA front camera
  • Dual SIM, Dual standby
  • 4 GB inbuilt memory (2 GB user available), expandable memory upto 32 GB via microSD, 512 MB RAM

With just a single core processor, this phablet may find it hard to compete with other sub-10k Indian phablets like Karbonn Smart A111, Intex Aqua 5.0 and Byond B65 which are powered by a dual-core processor. But the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS and its low price may give Lava Iris 502 some traction in the market.
