Lenovo launched six new smartphones in India today. The six smartphones cover all low-end, mid-end and high-end markets. The smartphones released are K900, P780, S920, S820, A706 and A390. Pretty confusing naming indeed, but once you’ve read the specs and price, you might put them in their place.
Lenovo K900 specifications:
The Lenovo K900 is their new flagship device and is powered by Intel’s latest Atom Z2580 processor clocked in at 2GHz. Just like with their desktop variants, the processor makes use of Hyper Threading (HT) to virtualize the cores and boost performance. The handset sports a 5.5-inch IPS display with 1080p resolution display (400+ ppi), a 13MP rear camera and a wide-angle front camera. The rear camera uses the same sensor as that used in Sony’s flagship devices, the Exmor BSI sensor.
The device is priced at ?32,999/- in the Indian market and will be available starting July this year.
Lenovo P780 specifications:
The Lenovo P780 sports a 5-inch IPS display and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor. The phone has an 8MP camera on its rear and is juiced by a massive 4,000 mAh battery. It is priced at ?22,529/- in the Indian market.
Lenovo S920 specifications:
The Lenovo S920 is a dual-SIM smartphone and sports a 5.3-inches IPS display with 1280 x 720 resolution. The device is powered by a 1.2GHz Quad-core MTK6589 processor with 1GB of RAM and runs on Android Jelly Bean OS. On its rear is an 8MP camera with LED flash and auto-focus and the front sports a 2MP camera. The internal memory is low at 4GB, but it is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. The phone is juiced by a 2250 mAh battery. The handset is priced at ?26,399/- in the Indian market.
Lenovo S820 specifications:
The Lenovo S820 is a more affordable version of the S920. It sports 4.66 -inch IPS display with 720 x 1280 pixels (315ppi). The handset is powered by a 1.2GHz MTK6589 quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM and runs on Android Jelly Bean OS. The phone features a 12MP rear camera with LED flash and auto-focus and a 2MP front camera. The same 4GB internal memory is found here, which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card, but the battery is smaller at 2000 mAh capacity. The smartphone is priced at ?19,599/- in the Indian market.
Lenovo A706 specifications
Lenovo A706 is a mid-range smartphone which sports a 4.5-inch FWVGA (854×480 pixels) IPS display. The pixel density is very average at just 217ppi. The handset is powered by a 1GHz quad-core processor with 1GB RAM. We again see the 4GB internal storage capacity, crushing the hopes of app installations. The handset is priced at ?15,949/- in the Indian market.
Lenovo A390 specifications:
Finally, coming to the low-end budget smartphone, the Lenovo A390. The handset sports a 4-inch display with 480×800 pixels resolution (233 ppi) display. It is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor with 512MB of RAM. 4GB of internal memory limits the internal storage capacity here too, but it also features a 5MP rear camera. The handset is priced at ?8,689/- in the Indian market.
