Last week, we had updated you about the teasers of LG’s G Pad 8.3 Android tablet. The tablet has been formally announced now. This will be the first tablet by the South Korean manufacturer since it came out with its first tab LG Optimus pad, back in 2011.
While the 2011 attempt did not produce much result, the market has moved on much since then and the company must be hopeful to put up a good show with the latest launch. After much debates and guesses, we finally know the features of G Pad 8.3. Here is all what you will find, if you buy this tab-
- 1.7GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 Processor
- 8.3-inch WUXGA (1920 x 1200 pixels / 273 ppi) display
- 16GB internal memory
- 2GB RAM
- 5.0MP rear camera along with Front 1.3MP front camera
- 4,600mAh super power battery to stand up for more than 450 hours on standby
- Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 out of the box Operating System:

It has got some unique features like KnockON to turn on the device on and off by tapping the display twice, QSlide and Slide Aside features to provide seamless multi-tasking. These features, coupled with a giant 8.3 inch display, will make an amazing interface. However, pixel density could have been slightly better to be close to new Nexus 7 which has a ppi density of 323. Its compact size and lightweight make it easy to handle and carry. Yet another important feature is its easy of synchronization with other Android based devices.
The tablet will be available in North America, Europe and Asia later this year, starting in the fourth quarter. The price has not been announced yet and will be known at the time of launch.
