Nokia launches Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 in India

After months of speculation and teasing, Nokia has finally come around to launch its new Windows Phone 8 smartphones, the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820, in India. The Lumia 920 is priced at Rs. 38,199 and the Lumia 820 is priced at Rs. 25,559. We reported previously a few days back that Nokia will be launching the WP8 phones in the month of January and the consumer’s wish has been granted.

The Lumia 920 sports a  4.5-inch (1280 × 768 pixels) Pure Motion HD+ IPS display, and is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and runs on the latest Windows Phone 8 OS. The smartphone also features a 8.7MP auto-focus camera with PureView camera technology, LED Flash, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and supports Full HD 1080p video recording. A 1.2MP front-facing camera capable of 720p video calling is also included. Wireless charging capabilities based on the popular Qi wireless standard is one of the stand out feature of this smartphone. Connectivity options include 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.1, GPS / aGPS, NFC. 1GB of RAM, 32GB internal memory and a 2,000mAh battery complete the package.

The Nokia Lumia 920 is priced at Rs. 38,199 in India and comes in yellow, red, white and black colours. It would be available from select retail stores in key cities across India. The phone comes with an offer of 2GB free 3G data from Airtel for 3 months.

820-product-hero-1-png The Lumia 820 sports a 4.3-inch (800 x 480 pixels) OLED  ClearBlack display, and is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and runs on the latest Windows Phone 8 OS. A 8MP auto-focus camera with Carl Zeiss optics, Dual LED flash, 1080p resolution video recording capability at 30fps and a VGA front-facing camera seal the camera capabilities of this little brother. The connectivity options include 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.1, GPS / aGPS and NFC. The internal hardware includes 1GB of RAM, 8GB internal memory which is expandable with a microSD card. The phone is powered by a 1650 mAh battery. The phone supports Qi wireless charging through separate back cover shells, which add additional functionality to the phone.

The Nokia Lumia 820 is priced at a more affordable Rs. 27,559 in India and comes in red, yellow, cyan, white and black colors. It would be available from select retail stores in key cities across India. An offer of 2GB free 3G data from Vodafone for 3 months is included with the phone.
