HTC seems to be deploying new tactics with their flagship, the HTC One. While we’ve seen many mini-phones/tablets, the S3 mini, iPad mini, the HTC One mini, we’ve never actually seen a larger version of a flagship. Palms have stretched considerably in the last year, but around 5 inches seems to be the sweet spot. HTC will have nothing of it, and has barreled ahead with it’s plans for the HTC One Max, a much larger version of the existing phone, and has provided tasty leaks for the web to feast on.
The HTC One Max, is confirmed to have a gargantuan 5.9-inch screen, larger than the 5 inches on the One, and much more than the 4.3 inches on the One Mini. Bigger is better in their minds, and the near-half-a-foot-screen-size qualifies it as a phablet. Few other devices pack such a massive size.
The phone is also rumored to have a fresh-off-the-shelves quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, with 2 GB of RAM, and clocking in at 2.3 GHz. The screen will be a full 1920×1080 resolution. It will allegedly pack a 4-ultrapixel camera, 3,300 mAh battery, and will likely have the latest version of Android 4.3.
The high power, large screen size, and the flagship name, and the new camera, makes it a strong competitor for the coveted position of ‘best phone currently on the shelves’. Also, who doesn’t love a teaser with Robert Downey Jr. allegedly in it ? We will bring more as details surface. Until then, don’t panic and keep rooting for great devices.
