Just when rumors of phones like the Nokia Lumia 825 were not enough, Nokia appears to be secretly (no longer a secret) working on a Windows 8.1 RT tablet. The speculated date of release is somewhere around September.
The two images reveal a possible Verizon-branded Nokia tablet. The blurry leaks do suggest Windows 8.1 RT, thanks to the RT branding in the spotted. However, no conclusion can be drawn regarding the exact nature of the OS, these may just be testing prototypes.
The tablet is on the arc with the iPads and Samsung Galaxy tabs with a 10.1 inch display. This time, we would probably get to see a Full HD screen (finally). It’s a big display, hence a 5 point multi-touch. To give it enough processing bulk, the device would house a 2.15 GHz Snapdragon 800 processor. Storage should be plenty, with 32 GB of on board storage. External ports include USB 3.0 and micro HDMI ports.
Keep in mind, all these are just rumors. Let’s just hope the tablet keeps up with what’s expected. The images leaked are pretty blurry and deny us a path to any sort of conclusion. What we do know is that Nokia is definitely going to release a tablet very soon. Also, Nokia does plan to release a power packed phablet, which would be launched alongside the Windows Phone 8 GDR3.
