Sony’s Honami i1 mini, also referred by its code name Ray3, has been in the tech news for a long time now. Many have been guessing and speculating about its specifications but perhaps not anymore. Its specifications have hit the online world, much prior to its actual release.
While the Honami i1 is scheduled to be launched on September 4, at IFA Berlin, another follow up handset to Honami has come out online. Hence, the market of speculations is once again heated. Considering the leaked specs, it feels like Sony has tried to keep the essence of the original Honami i1 in a compressed form. Hence, following the strategy of keeping it short and simple.
The camera centric handset from Sony will be targeted to take on with Nokia Lumia 1020 and Samsung Galaxy Zoom amidst many others. At the same time, its compact version will further push others to go back to their R&D workstations. According to the leaked specifications, here is what Sony’s Honami Mini may offer-
- 4.3 inch Triluminos display (the same as one available in Xperia Z Ultra) with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution.
- 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor
- 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage alongwith microSD card slot
- 2400mAh battery as compared to a 3050 mAh battery expected in Honami i1
- 20.7MP camera with Sony G lens, f/2.0 aperture and the same 1/2.3? sensor
Sony is betting heavily on the device and if the speculations turn out to be reality, it may change the market equilibrium for the players like Nokia, Samsung and HTC. These players have got ‘mini’ signature appended to many of their devices like Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini and HTC One mini.
However, unlike competition, Sony is believed to have kept minimum gap of features between the original device and its miniature version. However, there is no official confirmation yet on the specifications. Hence, we need to wait for some more time to get it confirmed.
