Samsung Galaxy Note 2 to debut on August 29?
It is believed that Samsung, the South Korean electronics giant is planning to unveil the much awaited sequel to its popular Galaxy Note smartphone on August 29 at the IFA event. The IFA is one of the most popular trade shows for consumer electronics and home appliances in the world. It has been reported that Reuters has been told by the electronics giant that the debut of the new Galaxy smartphone will be on August 29.
Note that we earlier reported the launch of this big brother of the ‘phablet’ to be August 15. To the best of our knowledge, that date has been shifted to August 29.
If the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 smartphone is indeed released on August 29, then it can give Apple a run for its money. There were also some unconfirmed reports stating that the South Korean giant may unveil a tablet-smartphone hybrid also (think iPad!).
However, on the other hand, AllthingsD has reported that though Samsung has planned an event on August 29, it is not clear if the New Galaxy Note smartphone will be unveiled at the scheduled event. A Samsung spokesperson has reportedly told AllThingsD that the information on what will be announced at the planned event on August 29 cannot be disclosed.
The Galaxy Note 2 smartphone is said to have a dual-core 1.76 GHz processor. It also boasts a 12 megapixel camera and comes with an Android version that is new. It is also believed that it has a 5.5 inch display and comes with a super AMOLED capacitive touch screen.

One interesting aspect is that if the new Samsung Galaxy Note 2 smartphone is released on August 29, then it will beat the iPhone 5 to the market as it is believed that Apple is planning to release the iPhone 5 in September. It is worth to watch if the rivalry between these two giants can get heated up any more.
Expected Specs
- 1.76 GHz processor
- 12 megapixel camera
- Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)
