Samsung Goes Beyond Obvious: Portrait TV?

The countdown for New Year has ended and now it is time for the gadget-crazies and tech-savvies to start a countdown. Opening on Monday, the January 7th, CES – 2013 promises to bring many new novel innovations and many more unprecedented technologies. Samsung, as usual, is competing on the front lines.

Last week, it had confirmed the launch of a newer version HDTV based Smart Hub. On the Global Samsung Tomorrow Blog, it has been reported that for better interface, it is split into five categories with “flipping”. Today it has confirmed to unveil a new model of TV.

The details are missing, but based on the picture it released earlier, the new TV is a portrait model.

You read it right – a portrait model. Looks like Samsung is planning on becoming a trendsetter; might be a by-product of a TV and a Smartphone. There are speculations that it might be a transparent one too. All that needs to be done is wait and see how the customers react to the new freshening look. Will this trend catch on is the billion dollar question.

Samsung’s CES teaser video for the last year received the Platinum Marcom Award. Curious what is in the new 2013 teaser? Watch the trailer below.
