Samsung TIZEN and Bada OS devices postponed to 2013

2012 will not be a good year for fans of the old Bada OS and the new TIZEN OS introduced and stated for a 2012 release. These devices  have been re-stated for a 2013 release as Samsung concentrates more on the Android and Windows 8 market.

Samsung is amongst the largest seller of Android phones and refocusing on the revamping the Android device lineup makes more sense given the abundance of new hardware that is coming out these days on the Android market. Windows 8 too is a new competitor offering loads of cool stuff that might sway the public in its favor. Samsung is making a smart move by taking up space in the Windows 8 market as it has lots of untapped potential.

Moving to Bada and TIZEN, both are Samsung managed proprietary operating systems. Samsung has probably spent millions on R&D but they can only go so far. The features offered by the two operating systems are already present on more popular alternatives.

There has also been some talk that Samsung might just merge Bada and TIZEN into a completely new OS and present it in 2013.

Whatever the case may, be its quite certain that we won’y be seeing an  be happening this year. My condolences to all the developers who signed up for the TIZEN prototype, I know how you guys feel!
