Intel Medfield powered Lava Xolo X900 : Powerhouse now only for Rs.17,500

Last year, Intel has brought before us the medfield powered AZ210. Its stellar web performance and adoption of ARM technology was  a huge plus for the ARM Developers, who wanted to try Android Development.  Sure they were some initial hiccups, but dedication of  Intel towards open-source and the developers were so good, that right now almost every app is ARM Compatible! So how good is it?

Performance and hardware

After the introduction of dual cores and quad cores, every one wondered why Intel went for a Single Core variant. But it turns out to be the best of the single-core bunch, even beating the dual cores at certain tests. The hardware acceleration and processing was more than enough for a lag-free performance, which is a huge point, considering how some of the dual core phones lag  due to poor optimization, which was fixed in JellyBean.

Operating System

Having introduced with Gingerbread, Intel has assured that 4.0 update will arrive in due time, and yesterday it has arrived. User reports prove that the update made the device even more smoother. Intel also tweeted that the JellyBean update will hit the phone later. Intel’s commitment is to be applauded, considering how the likes of Samsung, HTC, LG have ditched their phones without update to 4.1 or even 4.0 (read Galaxy R, S Plus,  LG Optimus 2X, HTC One V etc.) Sure there are other ways to try the latest version, but still official update will be make it even better. It has 1GB of RAM, enough for running most of your apps.

Other Hardware

Xolo houses a beautiful 4.0″ 1024×600 resolution display with an impressive 295ppi (pixels per inch). Camera is an 8 MP snapper which is quite manageable (pixels are not everything!). A secondary 1.3 MP camera is present for video calls. The phone has a 1460 mAh non-user-replaceable battery, which is quite low considering the display. But, it still manages to live through the day with ease.

Price

Xolo 900 was initially launched with a price tag of Rs. 25999/- ,  but now it can be had for Rs. 17,500/-

Considering its features and performance, we feel it to be a great device to have at around 17K. If you feel like buying it, here are the links:
