Micromax Funbook P300 Jelly Bean Custom ROM, Recovery ClockWorkMod & Flashing

Micromax Funbook P300 is currently the hottest selling budget Android 4.0 tablet in India, and it can be had for as low as Rs. 5,699 online or from stores. The tablet has a good community support, with stable Jelly Bean releases as well.

Micromax Funbook P300 was released by Micromax earlier this year. Running Android 4.0 ICS and with an affordable price tag of Rs. 5,999 it’s hard not to get why this tablet became so popular. And thanks to it’s big sales and popularity, community support cropped up with CM9 (Cyanogen Mod 9) and soon to be followed by a CM10 (Cyanogen Mod 10) release. The Micromax Funbook comes pre-rooted by the manufacturer, which is a big boon. You don’t have to separately root your Funbook.

Micromax Funbook CWM Recovery

Installing Clock Word Mod Recovery on the Micromax Funbook is another simple procedure. Follow these simple steps:

  1. Download THIS FILE
  2. Extract File to Internal SD Storage
  3. Install NovoTools v1.0
  4. Run NovoTools and choose “Flash Recovery”
  5. Recovery Flashed. Reboot in Recovery directly from within NovoTools

Guide to downloading and installing CM10 Cyanbook Jelly Bean on your Funbook. Follow these simple steps:

  1. Download Cyanbook JellyBean & GAPPS
  2. Copy files on External SD Storage
  3. Boot to Recovery from previously installed CWM
  4. Perform backup of current ROM if nessary
  5. Wipe Data/Factory Reset
  6. In Advanced Options, Wipe Dalvik Cache
  7. Go to “Install from SD Card”  and install Cyanbook
  8. Go to “Install from SD Card” and install GAPPS
  9. Reboot

      The Jelly Bean Cyanbook ROM is in Beta and under active development. It is being worked hard upon by karndev and he’s working to fix all issues. SD card reading is a known issue @facebook-1413939881:disqus

      No no, you can’t use Cyanogen Mod’s release. You have to flash a ported CM10 ROM for Funbook

      Try a different ROM. Or it’s possible your ROM package is broken

    i want to do something new on my tab and i installed cwm manager i opened it and there was some thing download rom when i opened there was super user and cwm and in that i found some downloads i download it and click to reset on rebboot and my tablet has changed and its not a good upgradation it has a drop down menu but its basic older functions are more better what to do and how not familiar with these stuff plz help……

        Thanks preetam, but i tried to reflash the rom and it worked perfectly. but launcher create the problem but i had install apex launcher and now all things worked perfect. one more solution i required, compass application not working on my funbook. is there any way to run compass application to run on funbook? because it is nassesory for me

    I use a microman funbook P275. i do not have any volume buttons. after surfing the net, i read tht one must press the home button continuously to choose options in the recovery mode. but home button doesnt work at all in recovery mode. what should i do?

      I never thought that it might not be supported. Flash any ICS based ROM (AOKP or something) and check. It should work.

    what is the chance of bricking to occur? i’m using funbook p300 itself….and also my battery is very low…below 95% it switches off (i’m using stock rom)

      Then there is a battery problem. Get it replaced. It happened with some units.

      You can’t really brick these devices. They can be brought back to life! I brought mine

      Its not a battery problem>>>>>the battery give by micromax cannot handle the processer,to avoid this download setcpu and set your frequency to 800 mhz.it will not switch off.
