Amazon Free Kindle : Parental controls for your Kindle Fire HD

Amazon came out with a free accessory for their Kindle Fire tablets named Free Kindle that gives complete control over the tablet’s usage by children. This extra pair of eyes sure makes it tons easier to keep a watch over your children, thanks to its customizable controls.
The controls are entirely flexible. You can modify not only the total screen time but also set limitations on what kind of content can be viewed.

Option 1: Total Screen Time.

This is self explanatory. Forbids access after the set screen time expires. A blue “lock” screen is launched when it’s locked.

Option 2: Content Activity Time

What good is setting a total screen time if your child is gonna get a toll free ride on the highway? This option which is an alternative to Total Screen Time, allows you to control how the screen time is utilized. Content Activity Time can be set for watching videos, running apps and reading books (max limit is unlimited). They can be set concurrently or individually.

Option 3 : Profile Management

Multiple profiles can be created, each with their own time limits and content restrictions.

Amazon Kindle Fire is the first with an inbuilt app that gives you this degree of control. Add this to the numerous reasons to go for a new Amazon Kindle Fire HD.
