Clash of the Titans! iOS, WP8, Android Top-Guns Battle.
This years hottest phones are being pitted against each other soon. One each from the Android, iOS and Windows phone camp. Find out how they fare against each other.
iPhone 5:
iPhone 5 is by far the best iPhone Apple has ever released. It has every potential to be the best phone in the market. In brief it has one of the best camera modules present in the market, a great and improved screen, which though increased in size maintains the frame well. It is still as easy to hold as the 4S but has evolved into a beast. Our only gripe is the iOS 6. Even though iOS 6 brought a few improvements, it was largely focused on App improvements, and small features, which are a welcome addition, like Do Not Disturb, Panorama, Photo Stream etc.
Comparing to the likes of Android and Windows Phone 8(from what we know), the iOS update is only an incremental one, but not phenomenal. It was designed so as to include the 16:9 aspect ratio of iPhone 5, but there is this issue of black bars, on old apps, which is pretty annoying. But we are sure that it would be fixed soon as the upcoming iOS gadgets will mostly feature the Aspect Ratio of 16:9. More on iPhone 5? Check our quick view of it over here.
Lumia 920:
The Fins had it. They were the market leaders since they started, but when iOS and Android emerged, they were completely washed out. Looks like they are back with a Titanic now! Nokia’s Lumia 920 is the best, and the ultimate Windows Phone 8 Smartphone. Everyone thought Nokia took a bad decision while licensing Windows Phone 8, but everyone were stunned once Lumia 800 and 900 were launched. They captured a major chunk of the Windows Phone Market. But, Microsoft’s call that No Mango Device can be updated to 8, due to changes in the code, turned the tide. Lumia sales slowed down, and everyone is waiting for the next big deal.
Well, here it is! The Fins are back with the 920. It is seriously a good looking phone, with a 4.5″ PureMotion HD+ Screen with a res 1280×768, it is 768p. The display is gorgeous with vibrant colors. It has a PureView Range 8.7MP Camera, which takes fabulous pics. The most welcome changes is its CPU. Lumia adopts a Dual Core Snapdragon S4 Krait Processor with a 1.5Ghz clock speed, which is currently the best dual core on offer. It also has 1GB Ram for all the multitasking needs.
Windows Phone 8 has been the much needed upgrade, long awaited by Windows Phone Fans. It struck the right chords, and we are sure its a Grade A OS in offer. More about Lumia, over here
Optimus G:
LG has been trying hard to make a cut since a long time. Optimus 2x was the last phone, which was a hit with the developers, but still not quite enough to appeal to the masses. But, today we have it! The best Android phone ever, and that is from LG.
Optimus G houses the Quad core Krait Processor! The Snapdragon S4 Pro, clocking a 1.5Ghz speed. It has shaken the competition with benchmark scores that topped the charts. It also has a 2GB RAM, the first in an international phone, which is more than enough for the multitasking needs of the heavy user. Also, it is the first phone in Android Bandwagon to introduce the in-cell touch technology, which reduces the thickness while having the touch screen and glass in one module. It has a 4.7″ 768p IPS LCD screen, which is too good.
The camera is a 13MP unit, which has promised to take great pics and worthy of a flagship. Whether it can replace the traditional cam is yet to be seen.
It runs on ICS(4.0), but an upgrade to Jelly Bean(4.1.1) is being planned.

Comparison:
It is a very difficult decision. Three great phones, and which one to choose? Well, lets see.
- If you are the kind of person who loves iOS/Apple Ecosystem. Who owns an iDevice already and want to own more. Who uses his phone for virtually any task possible, and want it to be easy to use, well, go for the new iPhone 5. It is great for everyday use. Advanced users will also be pleased by the upgrades. We are sure that iOS 7,or whatever it will be called, will have all features for iPhone 5.
- If you are the kind of person, who likes apps to have square boxes, want everything on screen to be big, with fonts which are easy to read, while at the same time perform everyday tasks with ease. Also, you like to take a lot of pics, and are enamored by the PureView Camera, well Lumia 920 is perfect for you! Just go get it when it releases.
- If you are the kind of person who loves Android, wants to enter the developer community and tinker with the device alot. Wants a huge and reasonably enough screen, well Optimus G is for you. It is a great upgrade for any previous Droid users.
Final decision rests in your hands, which phone to choose. But, all three phones are great to use , and satisfy every user’s needs well!
